Comments about dbx DriveRack 260 Complete Equalization and Loudspeaker Control System: Amazing unit. Definitely worth the money and a major audible improvement in live sound quality. Consider purchasing the RTM mic to do eq and feedback suppression. I initially purchased this unit as an amplifier management console to run multiple sets of speakers and add delays. Beneath The Pyramids Andrew Collins Pdf Viewer.
Then I started to experiment with the 'extra' equalization features. What surprised me was the major improvement in the live sound after doing an auto equilization (Mode C) with the RTM mic aimed at ONE speaker. The guitar notes and vocals are much crisper and clear. Amazing difference. The most recent model includes support for QSC amps, not just Crown amps. After doing a system setup and auto eq, the unit reverted to 2X2 + 4 mono mode, with the limiter set to on on channels 1 and 2.
Not a problem as I can use outputs 3 and 4 in mono for front fills. The auto feedback wizard worked fine also. Finally, I added delay in feet for the front fills. I selected inserts as AFS and compressor.
Still working on compression. I was suprised by the excellent graphical view of the system routing on the front panel.
I was hesitant to spend this much money just to add delayed front fills, but after hearing the remarkable improvement in sound after auto eq., it was money well spent. Comments about dbx DriveRack 260 Complete Equalization and Loudspeaker Control System: I purchased a Driverack 260 about a year ago and now I couldn't live without it. I use the Auto EQ and sub synth and it's like having a brand new and much more expensive PA. The feedback suppression is nice great.I made a cable that allows me to run the driverack from FOH. After this and a couple other purchases, I am a huge dbx fan. The 260 is easy to manage with a laptop but considerably more of a challenge on the small lcd screen. It's like having a rack full of gear in a single space.
Comments about dbx DriveRack 260 Complete Equalization and Loudspeaker Control System: I do not really have any complaints about the 260. It does everything that I would ever need it to do. It auto eqs (although it usually requires a bit of tweaking afterward), does x-over, suppresses feedback and provides delay. I use this in a church to process the FOH sound.
I have not tried it on monitors (I don?t really need anything on them.) The most impressive feature is most certainly the feedback suppression. Most of the time I do not even realize that it suppressed feedback. It hears it before I do. I don?t use the fixed mode at all since the setup is different every week and there is a lapel microphone involved. I just set the Live filter lift to 30 min and let it work its magic.
